Richard Jacquot Collection

Some of my favorite pieces.

This piece has it all, red, black, green and white colors. Copper and iron mixed in the trinitite. Spheres/pearls.

If you ever wondered if copper was the actual reason for the red in trinitite, wonder no more!

1. 21 gram red trinitite with iron/copper nuggets embedded all over the top of the piece. Can be picked up with a magnet.

2. Close-up of large iron/copper nugget embedded in the specimen.

3. Close-up of smaller iron/copper nuggets.

4. Bottom of specimen with large melted copper attached.

5. Bottom of specimen with large melted copper attached.

6. Close-up of copper with three glassy green trinitite spheres or pearls attached to the copper.

This is a three-part report series to document my recent trips to California. I traveled out west three times in a little over a year to purchase the finest trinitite and meteorite collection I had ever seen. It took three trips, but the collection is now complete and will remain intact in my museum. What I brought home are the finest trinitite pieces in the world, to include the largest green and red specimens known. Hundreds of reds, greens and black pieces as well as very rare specimens. I will be adding a museum page to this site to display the specimens... I made a few stops along the way. Hope you enjoy the photos. Follow the links at the end of each page to continue reading.
